How To Use Hinge As A Guy, How To Use Hinge As A Girl; How To Use Hinge Effectively, How Does Hinge Work, Hinge Dating Tips, How To Date Successfully On Hinge

Hinge is one of the most popular dating apps on the market but it’s not without its drawbacks, frustrations, buggy design and ambiguous intentions.

Since it’s launch, it has tightened up the belt with respect to free features. Some of the filters people were accustomed to were put behind paywalls, the number of likes allowed on the app each day was reduced and attractive people were hidden behind the standouts feature requiring a rose to get in touch with them.

To make things worse, Hinge was acquired by Match Group and ramped up the monetization efforts dramatically by increasing subscription rates.

The app can also be quite buggy, but despite all these setbacks, it’s still one of the most widely used dating apps out there.

How To Use Hinge Successfully, Effectively, Best Way To Use Hinge, Hinge Dating Tips

In order to get the most out of Hinge, you will have to use an exhaustive strategy. Focusing on just photos, prompts or first messages won’t cut it. Time is the most valuable thing anyone has and no one wants to waste it on low-effort people, creeps, narcissists and those that don’t know what they want.

The best strategy to do well on Hinge starts well before you download the app. It starts with you. You have to be the best version of yourself possible to get the most out of the app. This means exercising, eating well, expanding hobbies, developing interests, living in a good location, have self-awareness, getting your life together.

If you don’t do these basic things, you are you going to be inefficient on Hinge. You are going to spend more time and money and suffer more rejection as a result. Your messages won’t be as effective, your photos won’t be as interesting, your prompts will lack substance, context and confirmation.

Not everyone is ready to date. You can treat Hinge like Ubereats or Doordash for dating. It’s merely an introduction tool. If you are not meeting people offline and getting dates in person, you are likely not going to do well on the app.

You need to learn to talk confidently, have a range of interests, hobbies and experiences to draw from as the best messages are not canned but unique. The best messages are improvised based on observations in the profile, photos, comments, reactions, current events and location. Once you get your life in place, you can then think about using apps.

How To Make A Good Hinge Profile – How To Get Better Options On Hinge

Once you get your life figured out, then you can think about what to put in a profile. Before you download the app, be sure to review all the requirements for a Hinge dating profile here. As soon as you launch a profile on Hinge, it is shown to all, immediately. Don’t put out a bad dating profile before you have had a chance to work on it.

After you have an idea of what goes into a Hinge profile, you will want to then put together the pieces. This means figuring out what photos to use and what to write in your prompts. To help with that, read this post on Hinge profile tips for men & women.

Making a good Hinge profile is crucial to doing well on the app. Without good prompts and good photos, your messages will not have the same effect as if they were optimized. Similarly, you swipes and comments might be ignored if your first photo is terrible.

The one thing you have to understand is that Hinge’s algorithm is pretty stubborn. Hinge doesn’t show you everyone in your area or age range. Hinge filters profiles based not just want you want but what others want. For example, if you are college educated, you may not be shown to others with a college education as that is a common deal-breaker for them.

Hinge strives to honor preferences and deal-breakers, so if you don’t fill out your profile, you may be severely limiting your visibility on the app.

How To Do Better On Hinge – Hinge Hacks; How To Use Hinge As A Girl, How To Use As A Guy

After you have set up your profile and have all the pieces put together, then comes the easy work. Some guys swipe right / tap heart on Hinge too often. If you do this too much or too often, it can hurt your visibility (more on that here). You have to be patient and have realistic expectations.

The more you swipe on people out of your league, the worse you will do on the app. Swiping outside your league will result in more left swipes, which will suggest you are not as attractive as you think. It’s not just about what you want, but also what the other person wants. If you don’t consider their preferences/filters, you are going to waste a lot of time on the app.

Hinge Conversation Tips, Hinge Match But No Message – Why Hinge Matches Don’t Respond

If you don’t send a comment with a like, you are going to decrease your chances to get matches. If you send a generic, lame comment, might as well not send any at all. Sure sometimes you will send a message and not get any responses, but chances are it wasn’t good, profile is bad, you are swiping out of your league, or you have bad style, hygiene, grooming, personality, attitude etc.

On average, comments help get matches but only if you work on yourself and have a good profile, photos and prompts. If you are aiming high, chances are the person is in demand and either has too many matches or is too busy with other conversations. Matches mean nothing. I repeat, matches mean nothing.

The threshold to like someone is less than the threshold to message them. If you can’t understand that, dating apps are hopeless for you. You have to invest in yourself offline and online if you want to do better on apps.

Paying for apps doesn’t do much if you are not having some success on the free version. Paid versions of Hinge merely help you sift through profiles more quickly – it doesn’t make you more attractive nor interesting. It doesn’t make your messages more witty. It can’t change your religion, politics, height, age, appearance or lifestyle choices.

No, you cannot. Similarly, there is no Incognito mode on Hinge. You can remove contacts when you see their profile pop-up but it might be too late by then (they could have seen your profile already).

Even if you could block contact on Hinge, most guys would just use different credentials to make new accounts or get around the ban (hint: many do that already).
