Model For A Day Photoshoots, Outdoor Fashion Photoshoots, Beauty Portraits San Francisco Bay Area

I love capturing cool, unique, beautiful, authentic, approachable and natural effortless editorial and environmental portraits for my clients who don’t want your average headshot. Modern yet casual and powerful. Outdoor headshots and portraits are my specialty and I am second to none when it comes to backgrounds, fun locations, cool architecture and beautiful interiors.

I will factor things like hair, outfits and backgrounds to get the most out of the photoshoots. Take a look at the photos below for examples and inspiration and let me know what you are looking to capture and convey.

Modeling Headshot Makeup, What To Wear For Modeling Headshots

Keep makeup minimal (don’t cake the face). Avoid loud patterns and logos. Get feedback from your agency or photographer (good ones can help pick out clothes for you ahead of time).

Model Poses Female, Model Poses For Photoshoot, How Can I Pose Like A Model?

When it comes to posing for modeling photos, a lot of people make the mistake and move around too much, overly accentuate facial expressions, arm / leg positioning and head tilts. In my opinion, more is less. It’s about confidence, playfulness, poise and gracefully moving from one position to the other.

It’s about small, specific movements, rather than moving around sporadically. A good photographer can help you pose by knowing what outfits to use, where to take photos, minimizing distractions, making you feel comfortable, fixing your hair and eliciting the necessary reactions from you.

The best poses depend on the body type, hair length/style, what you want to convey, makeup used, eye placement, angles, turns, twists and confidence. I personally favor asymmetrical poses and cross-contour positioning of the body relative to legs, chest and face.
