I have spent many years wandering the streets of San Francisco inside out like few others have. As someone who is relatively neighborhood agnostic and someone who is naturally curious, I love exploring hidden gems, alleyways, classic institutions as well as new openings. In my line of work I am constantly on the search for new places, different angles and overlooked spots for my photoshoots for those that demand something unique and custom.

As an avid travel and couchsurfer, I care about how visitors spend their time effectively, efficiently and cheerfully while on limited schedules, budgets and other constraints traveling from near and far from all over the world. I have been fortunate to be shown around places during my travels that I do my reciprocate thoughtfulness and attention to detail to those I meet.

What Should I See In San Francisco? How Do I Spend A Day In San Francisco?

San Francisco is an amazing city and despite it’s compactness, there is a lot to do and see in a short period of time. You can easily spend your time crossing around town so it’s best to pick a couple neighborhoods a day to explore.

Mission District: food, drinks, street art

Hayes Valley: food, boutiques

Inner Richmond: Clement Street aka ‘new chinatown’, food

Nopa: wine, beer and food

North Beach, Upper Haight: distinct neighborhoods

Marina, Embarcadero: outdoors, views, water.

Yosemite, Lake Tahoe, Monterey/Santa Cruz/Carmel, Hwy 1 up to the Mendocino Coast, Hwy 1 down to Monterey.

What Are The Best Restaurants In San Francisco?

That’s debatable, but I would start with the Eater SF Essential 38 Guide that is constantly updated. It has cheap eats, classic San Francisco institutions and fancy high-end spots. Some of the most jam-packed neighborhoods for food are Mission District, Hayes Valley, Nopa and Inner Richmond.

Some of my favorite places are Nopa (burger, pappardelle), Foreign Cinema, Swan Oyster Depot, Hog Island, Slanted Door, Sotto Marie (cioppino), Liholiho Yacht Club, Mandalay, Pizzeta 211, Dragon Beaux, Zuni Cafe (1 hour roast chicken), Rintaro, La Taqueria, Absinthe, Shizen (vegan sushi), Bar Crudo, La Mar, Lers Ros, Limon, Cuisine of Nepal, Flour & Water to name a few.

What Are The Best Cocktail Bars In San Francisco?

It depends on what you seek (wine, cocktails and beer) but San Francisco has plenty of options that cover all those things. San Francisco has great cocktails and stiff cocktails. Some of my favorites include Tommy’s (Margarita), Holy Water (Zombie Cocktail), Whitechapel, Aub Zam Zam, Bix, Buena Vista Cafe (Irish Coffee), Tonga Room (Mai Tai), Smuggler’s Cove (Mai Tai), LiPo Cocktail Lounge (Mai Tai), Padrecito (margarita).
