Should You Use Hinge Match Note? Bumble Opening Move Examples

Problems Online Dating, Issues With Dating Apps

For the longest time, both men and women have been frustrated with dating apps, even two of the most popular ones: Hinge and Bumble.

They complained about low effort on dating profiles and lazy opening messages like hi, hey or even a “.” or a simple handwave emoji.

It’s gotten so bad that both Hinge and Bumble have created features to jumpstart conversations through news features in Match Note (Hinge) & Opening Move (Bumble).

What Is Hinge Match Note?

Hinge Match Note is a new feature on Hinge in which users can opt-in and select canned notes to send matches. It’s sent automatically to all matches on the app.

The feature can be viewed in profile settings (profile questions) and it allows users to disclose details about themselves that they prefer not to make public.

In order for a match to be completed, the person needs to view the note and can choose to acknowledge and start a conversation or unmatch.

Should You Use Hinge Match Notes?

That depends on what Hinge Match Note you select. A lot of them are cringy, boring or low-effort. They can result in you getting unmatched.

Chances are, if you are not good with prompts, bios, or messages in general, this generic note can hurt your chances as they can be quite vague, ambiguous or already answered or implied in someone’s profile.

What Is Bumble Opening Move?

Bumble Opening Move is a newer feature on Bumble in which users are forced to send canned lines or custom messages to matches after both users send mutual likes.

It used to be an optional field, but now it required. If you observe someone without one, chances they they have been on Bumble a while, have not updated their app in some time etc.
